Racers coaching assignments for the 2017-18 season!

8U – Coach Kravetz / Sterba / Caissie

10U – Coach Gimbel / Asst. TBD

We are proud to introduce Nick Gimbel to the Daytona Racers organization.  Nick comes to us from Virginia Beach, VA and will bring an exciting breath of fresh air to our coaching staff.
Gimbel spent the final three seasons of his playing career (2013-2016) with the Hampton Roads Junior Whalers at both the USP3 and Elite level as a defenseman where he made it to the championship game in his last season with the USP3 Whalers.

Gimbel will also be filling a large hole in our juniors program with his HockeyTV.com broadcasts and in-house announcing. His exciting play calls online and exhilarating announcing will not only bring an extra layer of professionalism to game day, but it will also be sure to get the crowds in the rink/at home pumped and more excited about the games. "My dream is to be a sports broadcaster," said Gimbel, "and I got my start in Hampton Roads, but there's a new kind of freshness and excitement to this young organization. I'm thrilled to be a part of the foundation."

12U – Coach Zerkle / Asst. TBD

Very excited to have Scott Zerkle return to the bench to lead our 12U team this fall.  Scott has a fantastic history in Daytona hockey and a loyal following.  Scott is involved in almost every hockey program we offer in Daytona and his leadership with the 12U players will help them become top notch bantams in the future.

14U A/AA – Coach Yarbrough / Cirillo

Yarbrough is happy to coach one of his favorite age levels and partner with Cirillo to provide a fantastic coaching combination for players at the Bantam level.  At such a critical age group, we are excited to work these players into a competitive team to compete at high-level competitions.  Yarbrough and Cirillo will coach the upcoming Memorial Tournament in Wesley Chapel.

16U AA – Alex Tillman / Asst. TBD

Another new coach to the Racers organization, Alex brings a deep understanding of the game to the Racers youth program, utilizing the latest skills and tactics. Throughout his career, Alex played both Defense and Forward, providing him with experience from all angles of the sport.
