Take a Shot at Hockey is a school physical educational program designed to introduce students to the sport of ice hockey. The program provides all participants the opportunity to put on head to toe hockey gear and learn the basics of the game of hockey at Daytona Ice Arena.

How it Works

  • Children are bussed to Daytona Ice Arena
  • Tour of the Daytona Ice Arena
  • Dress for hockey in full protective gear and skates
  • Hit ice where they are broken into groups based on skill level
  • Learn to ice skate and other hockey specific drills
  • Instruction is provided by the top local coaches and athletes from professional, collegiate/ scholastic, and youth hockey organizations.
  • Group photo on the ice at the end of the session
  • Each child will get a practice jersey to take home
  • Each child receives a packet with free promos
