Adult Hockey League

Spring 2023 Season

**New Players to the Daytona Ice Arena Adult Hockey League Only**
For all new players to the Adult Hockey League for the Spring 2023 season, we request that you attend an evaluation skate on Saturday, February 18, 2023. Please attend the evaluation skate for the division you think you will be placed in:
Rookie Evaluation Skate: 2/18/23 5:00-6:00pm
Intermediate/Advanced Eval Skate: 2/18/23 6:15-7:15pm
Please register for the upcoming season in the division you feel you will be placed in prior to the evaluation skate. Adjustments to the division placement can be made at the discretion of the Hockey Director. For those skaters that attend the evaluation skate and are not registered for the Winter 2023 season, an $18 ice fee will be charged.

ADVANCED DIVISION COMPETITIVE HOCKEY
Former or current college, junior, or pro experience.
A Division League is our most advanced division with players having a high degree of hockey-playing skills; former and current pro, junior, or college experience.

INTERMEDIATE DIVISION COMPETITIVE HOCKEY
Teams are composed primarily of experienced adult players with intermediate skill levels. These players may have non-varsity college or varsity high school playing experience. Some players may also have a high school, competitive midget, or Junior B playing experience.
ROOKIE DIVISION COMPETITIVE HOCKEY
Teams are comprised primarily of novice and beginners level adult players.
Players may be beginners or have up to several years of playing as an adult.

Daytona Ice Arena has a variety of Learn to Play Hockey programs for players of all ages!
Learn to Play Hockey
The Learn to Play initiative aims to be the gold standard for youth hockey programs with the goal of inspiring more families to join the hockey community. Learn to Play changes the way youth hockey is offered by providing first time participants, head-to-toe equipment, weekly sessions of age appropriate on-ice instruction and certified coaching, led by National Hockey League Alumni, in a fun and safe atmosphere.

Hockey 201
Ages 6-13
Players build upon the Hockey 101 class as they advance build upon the basic skills of ice skating as well as while being introduced to new ice hockey specific skating skills. Set in a fun and nurturing environment, this next step program provides all participants a comfort level to enjoy their growing experience with hockey, while developing the fundamental skills to succeed in the next program progression steps.

This class is for the player who is putting on hockey gear for the first time. The focus of the program is to create a fun atmosphere for all players as they continue to enjoy the game of hockey while growing skill development.

This class is for the player who has passed hockey 301 and is progressing their hockey development in full gear. The focus of the program is to create a fun atmosphere for all participants as they continue to enjoy the game of hockey while advancing skill development.

House League Winter 2020
Weekly cross-ice game format for players to experience their first hockey game. This 8 week program gives players game scrimmages weekly with bench coaching and officiating so they can begin to learn the rules of the game. Daytona Recreational league prepares players for statewide travel hockey play.

Daytona Ice Arena’s House League
Spring 2023 Session Dates:

The House League is dedicated to cultivating and developing players in the sport of Ice Hockey. Our focus is on improving a player’s fundamental hockey skills using USA Hockey’s American Development Model (ADM) in an atmosphere that promotes good sportsmanship, with an emphasis on having FUN.

Each House League player will be required to have a current USA Hockey number. You can register here: https://membership.usahockey.com/
The House League Spring 2023 session will run from the first week of April through the third week of May 2023. The House League Spring session will allow for those players enrolled in the Fall/Winter House League session to continue their hockey skills development, while providing new participants a chance to begin their hockey development journey. Each player has one practice/development session and one game per week (there will not be a scrimmage the final week of the Spring session.)
There are two House League groups: U8/U10/U12s and U14/U16/U18s. Each group will have separate practice times and different game days.
The U8/U10/U12 House League players will have their practice/development sessions on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00pm and games will be on Saturdays from 10:00-11:00am.
The U14/U16/U18 House League players will have their practice on Wednesdays from 7:00-8:00pm and games will be on Sundays from 8:15- 9:15am.
When there are Sunday time conflicts due to SFHL travel hockey games, the games will be played on Sundays from 7:45-8:45am.
Cost:
- $315 per player
- $150 per goalie

Adult Learn to Play Hockey
ADULT LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY
Old Dogs New Sticks is for the adult who has never ever played hockey before or is returning from an extended absence. The program is co-ed, non-checking, for people over 18 years of age and is set in an insanely positive, judgment free atmosphere. No ice skating or hockey experience is required in order to participate.

DIA Hockey Clinics & Camps
Daytona Ice Arena Clinics and camps are scheduled throughout the year to help skaters improve their hockey skills. From beginners to competitive levels, our seasoned coaches will challenge and push you to new levels in an atmosphere of fun and encouragement.
2023 ERIC PERRIN'S HIGH ENERGY HOCKEY CAMP | July 24th - 28th, 2023
Cost: $550 players / $250 goalies
A deposit of $250 is required to register and final payment is due by the

Dare To Dangle Hockey Camp 2023
Coach Scott Zerkle brings over 30 years of coaching experience at both the collegiate and youth level to his Dare to Dangle Hockey Camp. Coach Zerkle now specializes in youth hockey and created this camp for all kids wanting to learn the game of hockey. For all ages 8-18 and skill levels, Dare to Dangle expertly balances the teaching of hockey fundamentals in a fun and fast paced format.

Skate & Shoot are hockey development sessions where players are given the opportunity to work on their skills. Sessions are open to players of all ages and take place year- round.

Requirements:
- Players 18 and younger must wear full hockey equipment.

Adult Drop-in Hockey
Our Adult Drop-In program allows you to casually test and improve your skills with other players with exciting pick-up games or just practice drills.

Adult pick-up offers a stick time session exclusively for adults.
Participants can use this time as an opportunity to work on skill development, or play a friendly game of pick-up.

Rookie Drop-in Hockey
Beginner or Rookie Level Hockey Players ONLY
All ages 18 yrs and older
Our Rookie Drop-In Hockey games are exclusively for beginner hockey players or those who are looking to have a pick up game with other players of the same skill set. Rookie Drop-In Hockey games provide a place for beginner and Rookie level players to work on their individual skills and game play in a slower paced and non judgemental environment.
- Full hockey equipment is required.
Cost: $15 for members or $18 for non-members
